My multidisciplinary background spans;
• IT (Programming and Business Models),
• Finance both from the Borrower and Lender perspectives (including feasibility studies, business plans, treasury functions, syndications, and loans rescheduling). During the period 2002 to 2023, I led a total finance portfolio of US$ 700 million for a leading Steel Group in Egypt, both in short and long term facilities. Those loans were granted from International banks, Export Credit Agencies as well as Local banks.
• Managing SPV’s financed by Mediocredito Centrale Bank in Europe.
• Antidumping and Economic law cases from the business perspective, whereby I
managed the business model of one of the antidumping cases against Ezz Steel in
collaboration with Van Bael & Bellis, a Legal firm in Europe.
• Construction and Steel industry operations including production, Order books, Sales Advance Payments, and the detailed day to day operation.
• Oil and Gas finance offered to the Gulf area, through ABN AMRO Bank.
• I witnessed the turnaround of the traditional banking sector and its expansion to include other financial services such as insurance, leasing, retail, and mortgage.
• Insurance. Participation in establishing an Insurance Company between Legal and General; a British Insurance Company and CIB; a Local Egyptian bank. My major accomplishments included putting together the Procedures and Manuals of the business as well as leading the Customer Service functions such as underwriting, pricing, claims handling, group insurance, and policy contracts wording. A few years later, I handled Insurance of a
steel complex worth of US$ 1 Billion, with all the required due diligence, technical reports and claims.
• Board Membership in two companies owned by The Sovereign Fund of Egypt and Misr Insurance Holding Company respectively, providing leasing, factoring, mortgage, and micro finance services.
